OUR MISSION

The mission of the Newport Fire Department is to preserve lives and property within the community by providing services directed at the prevention and control of fires, accidents, and other emergencies, while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, efficiency, and effectiveness.

PERSONNEL

The Newport Fire Department offers firefighting, ALS emergency medical services, and fire prevention services to over 26,000 citizens. The Fire Department is comprised of 99 personnel divided into two branches: Staff and Line Personnel.

Staff personnel include the Fire Chief, who oversees the entire department; the Administrative Officer, who manages daily administrative operations for the department and the Fire Marshal, who is responsible for the Fire Prevention office which includes: Captain of Fire Prevention, Lieutenant/Inspector, Captain of Fire Alarm, and Lieutenant of Maintenance.

The Line Branch includes four shifts of 23 personnel each, dispersed among 3 stations. Each shift is comprised of: 1 Deputy Chief, 2 Captains, 3 Lieutenants, and 17 firefighters.

STATION TWO - 100 Old Fort Road (Built 1986)
